Legal Question in Personal Injury in Oregon

I was recently injured in a hotel banquet room. A waiter dropped a leaded glass on my shoulder. I sought medical attention and the diagnosis was a broken clavicle. Where can I obtain information on personal injury without the assistance of an attorney? It was mentioned to me about the Quatam? area to reseach there.

You would be far better off consulting an attorney who specializes in personal injury cases than in going it alone. I have been an attorney for over 32 years, and I myself would consult a personal injury attorney, in your circumstances. I would not know what offer of compensation would be fair or how much more a personal injury attorney could obtain for me in settlement.

A broken bone is pretty serious.

I have never heard of anything called "the Quatam"? Maybe you mean "qui tam," which is merely a doctine that allows a private citizen to bring a suit against a law violator, like a factory that is violating pollution laws. That does not apply in your situation.

I do not handle cases like this, but the law firm of Kafoury McDougal in Portland does. You can reach them at 503-224-2647 or [email protected]. They provide an initial consultation visit for you at no charge, and they usually take cases on a "contingency" basis, which means that you do not have to pay them, unless they succeed in obtaining money for you from the entity that harmed you.
