Sister-in-law was hit by another driver - what should she do?

My sister-in-law was hit today when the other driver apparently ran a red light on a side street connecting to the arterial where she was turning left. The other driver claimed my sister-in-law ran the red light. My sister-in-law has a so-so grasp of English as a second language. She is extremely timid and would get clobbered by insurance companies and the other driver's attorney, assuming he retains one. She has no money for attorney fees and would require a contingency arrangement. Thank you for any help you can provide.

She should consult a personal injury attorney as soon as possible. Virtually every personal injury attorney will provide a consultation for free and, if there is a potential case to be made, will represent the client on a contingent fee basis, with no payments by the client except from the court award or from any settlement.

It is important that you retain an attorney soon, so the attorney can start investigating the accident (tracking down and interviewing witnesses, checking the police reports, etc.)
