Legal Question in Personal Injury in Oregon

Hello,

I was the victim of a car accident on June 11th. The other drivers insurance (State Farm) has screwed up on literally every single step of this process (not to mention having to get yet another rental because the first one broke down on the freeway), and I am still in a rental vehicle because of their mistakes, and here it is June 28th. My car was determined a total loss, and they are giving me a paycheck for the car. State Farm hasn't mentioned anything about pain & suffering money. I'm 6 months pregnant, and felt like this should have been dealt with faster and more accurately. I don't need this stress. Should I look into a lawyer for this?

You absolutely need an attorney. right now. State Farm will try to get you to sign away your rights for as little money as possible.

I do not handle cases like this, but the Kafoury McDougal law firm does. They handle cases on a "contingency" basis, so you don't pay anything unless you win. A consultation with them is free. 503-224-2647.

Mr. Meek is right, and I've been handling personal injury cases for 27 years. In that time, I can tell you that MOST insurance adjusters are out to get away with murder if they can, with regard to handling your case. Plus, if you talk to them about settling, you will only whet their appetite for screwing you over, because it's WAY too early to settle for pain and suffering.

First, you have to be sure that your baby isn't affected. Second, you have to get the care you need to get better. Then, once you're medically stationary -- when you've gotten about as well as you're going to -- THEN it's time to analyze the value of the case. You're likely much better off getting a personal injury attorney NOW, like Mr. Meek said. The longer you wait, the more the insurers manipulate you and your case.
