Abandoned Property

If tennants abandoned their personal property in a rental unit, what is the landlord's responsibilites to store the property? If the landlord has to store it, for how many months? What if the rental unit is sold by the landlord, what responsibilities do the new owners have to the previous tennants personal property.

Oregon law has specific rules regarding the

disposal of tenant-owned property. These

requirements vary with the value of the goods.

The sale of a rental unit does not relieve the

original landlord of the responsibility to

properly deal with the tenant's property.
