Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oregon
A friend traded his vehicle for a period without a signature. Neither party has paid off their vehicle and both parties pay for their new vehicle during this time. The understanding of both parties was to have a trial period until June and then exchange titles. Now, the friend wants his vehicle back after figuring out that their vehicle had its transmission blown out. After hearing this, the other party wanted to have my friend pay for the months that they had to pay for my friend's vehicle and will sue if he does not. Do they have the law on their side?

No. Neither side will likely be able to prove what the agreement actually was, since it apparently was not written down. Further, if the oral agreement is what you say it was, then the other party still has no case against the friend.
