When a lawsuit has come to judgment involving real property, does the lis pendis automatically terminate or will it remain valid through the appeal process?

Re: Lis Pendis
At least in Oregon, a "lis pendens," properly recorded, does not automatically teminate. Rather, a release must be recorded.
