Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oregon
purchased a condo in Oregon. HOA informed us that they are assessing homeowners to pay for repair due to water intrusion. Assessment was set at $10,000.00 each owner in a lump sum or 19,000.00 over 15 years. HOA fees raised to 280.00/month with only internet and landscaping provided. Then we were told that property management company who was 'advising' the HOA recently discovered that one of the property management company owners took our associations $600,000.00 reserve account and disappeared. Now repairs have been canceled, HOA board members resigning, and everything board has done is done with no input from the homeowners. We are living out of state for the summer. What do you advise we do?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Hire a local attorney to sue the property management company owner, the company, and the HOA.
