Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oregon
My son is under contract for and intends to purchase a home in OR. His real estate agent is telling him that buyer's title insurance is unnecessary (not written into the contract for the seller to pay for it, so he would have to pay for it himself). I strongly advised him to purchase title insurance, but he seems very influenced by his agent. What would you recommend?

I strongly advice that he buy title insurance. County property recorders do make mistakes, and a mistake could cost him his entire investment.
