Legal Question in Social Security Law in Oregon
Medical help
My sister is now a widow. She lives in myrtle creek oregon. She has applied for social security disability. I want to know if they approve her and they should. Will she also get a medical card too? I am trying to help her since she was married 41 years and is devistated.

The answer differs depending on whether she is seeking benefits as the widow or on her own earnings account. If benefits are granted on her own account as a disabled person the right to Medicare starts in the 25th month following the first month of disability benefits owed (and evenytually paid) -see the resource page at www.richardsly.com including eligibility information at the Social Security Administration website
