Legal Question in Social Security Law in Oregon

SSDI for pain

I have degenerative spine decease in my neck. I am in constant pain . I am on a prescription of Oxyco/apap.

I have had one surgery already and then had another neck injury.

The doc's say they cant fix me. I've too much wrong. I went in for an evaluation, and I was denied based on the fact that I walked in on my own and could hold up a piece of paper above my waist.. I am waiting on the reconsideration.

I have not worked in two years...

If I do get on and they give me back pay...Is it $2500 a month in addition to my monthly benefits?

I take it that I wont get one large sum.

Re: SSDI for pain

Once your (SSD) claim for disability is approved, your file is sent to the payment center for calculation of your future ongoing monthly benefits based on your earnings and your backpay is calculated from the date of your onset of disability adjusterd for your application date and waiting period. The backpay is usually sent to you in one lump sum 30 -90 days is average processing lately--my clients have found that direct deposit is considerably faster than waiting for the US Treasury check. You may sign up for Direct Deposit at the local SSA office. If you have any other questions or want legal represenation for your appeal of the original adverse decision, please do not hesitate to contact my office in Salem.
