Legal Question in Tax Law in Oregon

Tax question

me and my spouse were married all of 1999 and we recently went through a divorce we have two children. she has custody of the children which is fine but my qestion is that she filed her income taxes and she claimed both children and head of house hold. for 1999

we were still married all of 1999 and on my w-4 i claimed married 3 because i wasn't planning on getting divorce. so now that she has filed i am going to have to pay over 1600 dollars in federal taxes and unknown on how much on state taxes do i have any protection?

please help

If you were all living together in 199, then you also can claim "head of Household."
