Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Oregon
Dis-Inheritance
I am writing for a friend. She was very close to her adopted father, but not to the mother. Now that her father has died, and her mother got everything, can the mother now disinherit her. I understood at one time you could not disinherit an adopted child? or is that passe? thank you very much.

Re: Dis-Inheritance
The short answer to your question is yes, you can disinherit a child. Whether the child is adopted or not does not matter.
