Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Oregon

Finding the contents of a will

My great-aunt recently passed away. I am in a different state, and do not have much contact with the family. Is there a way to find out if I am in the will without having to contact remaining members of the family?

Re: Finding the contents of a will

Find out the probate court where the deceased lived and contact the Clerk of Court to find out if a probate has been instituted. If so, a copy of the will is filed in that case.

You should ask them. Alternatively, if the will is probated, the administrator will need to publish a notice to creditors in a local paper of record. Chances that you would see this are very low.

If you are in the will, you are to be contacted by the executor.
