Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Oregon
My grandmother's will bequeaths her wedding ring to my mother; and if my mother predeceases her, then to my Aunt. My grandmother (who is still living) ended up gifting the ring to my mother over a year ago. My mother passed away 3 months ago and left the ring to me. Am I obligated to return it to my Aunt under the terms of my grandmother's will? Or since it was gifted to my mother over a year ago while my grandmother was still living, is it outside of the will?

Since your grandmother gave the ring to your mother, it belongs to your mother.
Your aunt has no legal claim to the ring.
