Last Heir?

My father died when I was very young (1980). His parents both died shortly after. I was put into foster care growing up. Now I am wondering how to find out if I have anything left to me by them.

You should go to the courthouse in the county in which they resided at the time of their deaths and look up in the case index of the probate cases to see if there was a probate. If there was pull the file and begin your search there. If not, there may have been a living trust and you can search real property records for some evidence of this. Also, ask any living relatives or friends.
