Heirs Rights

My mother left her estate as follow: one sister $5.00, the second sister two thirds, and executor, and me one third. What rights do the first sister and I have as to the disribution of the assets? Do I get one vote to her two and sister two gets no say? Thanks

Re: Heirs Rights

The personal representative must distribute the estate according to the terms of the will. You and your other sister do not get any "vote" in how things will be distributed.

Some wills provide for distribution of the personal property by agreement among the heirs but many do not have this provision. If your mother's will has this provision then you may have some opportunity to determine which items you receive.
