Legal Question in Workers Comp in Oregon

worker comp

I got hurt at work and my employer chose not to file a comp claim and pay for treatment and i think the injury may be worse than expected. Are my employers financially responsible for all further treatments and or surgury?

Re: worker comp

You need to hire a workers' compensation attorney. They work on a contingency fee basis, that means you don't pay unless they win- and then its the insurer usually that pays the lawyer.

By paying your claim rather than having you file a wc claim, your employer is breaking the law. The one who is going to suffer is you. There are many benefits available under wc comp that your employer will not recognize, including permanent partial disability and future long term benefits. What happens if you get fired, quit or your employer goes broke and goes out of business. You need to file a claim and hire a lawyer.
