if someone registered fake FIR, can he be punish? if so, what can be the punishment to register fake FIR?

if it does prove after investigation that the FIR is baseless and lodged with malafide then aggrieved person may go for suit for damages on the basis of malicious prosecution.

The aggrieved person can make an application to the sessions judge for the registration of the FIR against the person complained of. to prosecute him under the relevant section s of the PPC such as 177, 201 , 202, 203.

Other than that the aggrieved person can file a suit for the recovery of damages of the reputation on the basis of the malicious prosecution.
