Guardianship of my grandchildren
My grandchildren (ages 4 and 2) and daughter and son-in-law have lived in Florida for 4 years. The grandchildren now live with my wife and myself in Maryland and we would like to obtain guardianship because of health insurance and school tuition fees. Everyone is agreeable. Can this be done in Maryland and must I use a lawyer ?

Maryland would be an appropriate jurisdiction in which to apply for guardianship since the children would be residing here with you and can therefore be supervised by Maryland if necessary.
Unless you have some experience in this area of the law, it would be best to seek the assistance of an attorney who is conversant with Maryland guardianship law and can guide you through the procedure.
