Legal Question in Family Law in Pakistan

I want to ask that according to prevailing laws of the country it is pre-requisit to get permission from 1st wife for 2nd marriage. If husband does a 2nd marriage without permission, a punitive action can be taken in case of voilation under prevailing country laws..

But as far as I heard that this condition is valid till 1 year of 2nd marriage. i mean to say that if husband deos 2nd marriage without permission and wife deos not start any legal procedure against him till one year, than husband is free to live with 2nd wife and no claim can be done against him after passing one year. is it true ?
