Re: usually rent agreement made for 11 months?

there was rent law in Punjab which has been replaced by a new tenancy law in 2007, under the new law you can have the contract of any period both the parties agreed to, even in old law it was supposedly for the initial period of 11 months and that was definitely under the consent of the parties to amend the period with mutual consent and whatever agreed upon by the parties and in case of difference there was always the recourse of the court to decide the matter.
