when a Muhammadan dies, how his immovable property situated in urban area can be transferred to his legal heirs, whether there is need to institute any suit?

yes, if there is any dispute regarding any portion or share. otherwise no need for that. you will have to go to revenue authorities. or you can distribute on your own amicably but they will creat problem in the long run.

there is a dispute between the the legal heirs or not , you have to file a suit for declaration for the allocation of the shares of the all the legal heirs.in some situations suit for partition is required. You can call me during 4 pm to 7 pm to discuss this in detail.
