Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
My ex-daughter in law is moving to another state with my only grandson. My grandson is afraid of his mother, so he spends almost every day and night at our house. The boy's father, my son, died last year, so the mother has full custody. Is there any legal hope I have of my grandson remaining with me when they move?

If you can show that your grandson has resided with you continuously for 6 months or more, you then do at least have legal standing to file a petition seeking some manner of custody. However, if you cannot show the requisite 6 months residency with you at your home, you may not be successful with a custody claim, but you may still file for visitation rights. Either way it seems as if time is of the essence.
