Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania

my husband was in a motor bike accident his tibia was broken he was taken to one hospital on Sunday and was transferred from that facility the same day to a trauma center. they did not operate until Wednesday and they performed a fasciotomy . we were never told what this involved and this is pretty severe business. I read that for a fasciotomy to be successful the sooner it is done the better. did they make my husband wait to long?

Whether they waited too long would be revealed by the outcome. The surgery is indicated when swelling within the muscle compartments of the leg threatens circulation. Lack of circulation, if it persists long enough, can cause death of tissue. Whether surgery was indicated sooner depends upon the particular facts of the case. But an investigation of a potential malpractice case is only warranted if your husband suffered an injury beyond that which would have occurred on the basis of the original trauma.
