Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania
I was rear-ended in an auto accident about 6 weeks ago. I only have 4 weeks of medical leave left, but the Dr. says I will need to be out longer. (I injured my neck, back and knees) I will lose my job in 4 weeks if I cannot return. Since the other insurance co. accepted fault for their driver, will I be compensated for losing my job? How much can I expect to get with pain and suffering and losing my job? Right now my insurance co. is paying my medical bills and lost wages. This accident has really affected my life and I am becoming very depressed about it. I have a 9 month old and I feel like I'm not the mommy I used to be. PLEASE, I need any advice I can get. Thank you so much.

The insurance company will make an offer to you, but it will be a lot less than your case is worth. It's very important that you consult an attorney before you accept any settlement. There are lots of issues, including ongoing medical costs, lost income, etc. that have to be considered. The insurance company will want to do a quick settlement that looks good but will cut off their future payment for medicals and not compensate your losses fairly.
They will rip you off. It's what they do.

You really need to contact an attorney. There are many twists and turns throughout the process. You will be able to include any economic damages as part of your injury claim in addition to pain and suffering. The amount of your claim will be dictated by the injuries you have suffered, the duration of the symptoms, and the economic losses you endure. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING without speaking to a lawyer. We are here to help, and most of us do not charge a fee in less we get you compensated! Please let me know if you have further questions.
There are a lot of issues involved here, and the important thing is that you contact an attorney as soon as possible. Either Mr. Strauss's office (above) or our office would be happy to talk to you about your options and possible recovery. We look forward to speaking with you.
