Re: Act 34 clearance

An Act 34 clearance really isn't a clearance at all. What it is is a list of your criminal record.

So, yes, you can get an Act 34 clearance, which will show the conviction. Now, what you're really asking is will someone hire you with that revealed on your Act 34 clearance. That's up to the employer. The purpose of the clearance is to determine your record so that employers will have the information while making a hiring decision.

There are certain crimes which, by law, would exclude you from employment in a school setting, or doing jobs for an outside contractor in a school setting. Most crimes, however, don't disqualify you, but it is totally up to the employer whether a 30 year old larceny conviction would disqualify you from hiring at that company or school district.
