Re: Direct Discrimination
You asked about an attorney who handles discrimination with success and is well know.
It depends on what you are looking for. Discrimination is a very tricky area. Litigation is not necessarily the best avenue for either party. A party with a discrimination complaint often does not want to the claims to become widely known to the public. When litigation is filed that is exactly what happens. Sometimes that is the only tack that will work. More often than not you have backed the other party into a corner and they must appear to put up a good fight. Even if they have a losing case.
A success in a discrimination complaint is an attorney who can negotiate a settlement equivalent or better than what could be reached in court, without making the matter public. A public complaint will stay with the party for life. It will be available to anyone who does a background check and is often available through consumer reporting agencies. This could later affect potential employers, credit grantors, business partners, school choices, and other relationships.
Look for an attorney that is well respected not just well known.
