my great aunt changed her power of attorney about 6 months ago do to a medical conditions with her previous named power of attorney. About a month ago she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's can this diagnosis affect the changes she made to her power of attorney?

This is not an answer that can be given without knowing all the facts. The ability to grant a power of attorney is different from the ability required to execute a will. Questions can ensue as to her state of mind at the time she made the change in Power of attorney. however since the onset and progression of a disease such as Alzheimers can vary much in individuals the only

person qualified to make the determination of the level of understandin at the time of the change may be a medical person who was familiar with the great aunt. otherwise it is subject to legal

determination by a court should a dispute ensue between different parties as to its validity.
