split settlement
married for 20 years. broke my leg and sued. is my husband entitled to half of my settlement pay? he says it's the law that he receive half for being my caregiver.

Since you sued, you obviously have an attorney. SInce you are paying that lawyer, ask him/her. They should be advising you on your rights

The other answer is right. Your personal injury attorney may not deal with family law, though. Also your answer doesn't indicate whether you are still married or whether you were still married at the time that you fell, that is a major consideration.
