Subpoena
Do I have to use a vacation day at my job to serve a subpoena, or is it something that my work is supposed to give me off for without spending a day of vacation time?

Unfortunately you are probably going to have to use a vacation day. You should talk with the attorney whose name is on the subpoena about this.
