Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

Adding creditors after filing Chapter 7?

We filed Chapter 7 earlier this month, and we have since gotten a couple letters from creditors that we forgot to list on our filing papers. We have not had the creditor meeting. Can these be added to our case? If so, how?

Re: Adding creditors after filing Chapter 7?

Do you have an attorney?

You need to file an amended version of the schedule which the creditor would need to listed on originally including the creditors,

file an amended matrix adding the additional creditors addresses

and amended summary of schedules

good luck to you.

some amendments require the payment of additional filing fees

Re: Adding creditors after filing Chapter 7?

Under the present law it is wise to amend the schedules to list the additional creditors. The filing fee is an extra $26 and your attorney may charge additional fees as well. My bankruptcy power of attorney specifically states that amendments may require additional fees.

You can add creditors by filing an amended schedule F and matrix, file it with the court, and send notice of the bankruptcy filing directly to those creditors.
