Bankruptcy Exempt Property

I am considering filing chapter 7 and my vehicles are worth approx. $12,200.00. I was told by an attorney that $10,000.00 is exempt. Is there any way I can save the $2200.00 in vehicles from being taken?

Yes, there's also a wild card exemption and an exemption for the unused portion of your real estate exemption.
