Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

chapter 7, schedule C, exempt property form

top left of form there are two 11 U.S.C. boxes, one of them has to be checked but I don't know which one applies to me. I own no real estate, only automobile and home funishings.

Also what do I put in 2nd column where it says '' specify law ''. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: chapter 7, schedule C, exempt property form

It is not a good idea to file a bankruptcy pro se. Believe me, you are better off at least talking to an attorney before you file a Chapter 7, especially after October of 2005. Many attorneys, including most of the ones here, do not charge for telephone consultations and you should at least call one of them before filing a bankruptcy.

That being said, the schedule to which you are referring is to list exemptions. You list all of the property that you own and the value of each item of property and the amount of the exemption that you are claiming. The list of exemption is at Title 11 section 522 of the U.S. Code.
