Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

employment

Hello i have a question to ask as. I wanted to know if it was legal for the Pa state police to reject me base off my past credit from Filing bankruptcy.I have always had good credit until i went through a very tough devorce. I am currently employed as a Police officer with the city of Philadelphia and have been for 10 years. Philadelphia Police took no action against me for my credit going bad due to my bankruptcy I was reading That I would fall under a protected class under The Bankruptcy Code, at 11 U.S.C. sec. 525. I have no other blemish in my background. like i said i have a excellent record as a police officer in the city of philadelphia. Would i have a valid discrimination case if i got rejected due to poor credit history.

Re: employment

No, it is not legal to reject you because of a bankruptcy. You are protected by federal law.
