Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania
I am considering filing for bankruptcy, the main reason is because I have student loans that are over 60,000 and credit cards that I have been trying to pay off for years of 15,000. I don't have the money to pay it back I'm a single mother with two children. Am I eligible to file bankruptcy.

In addition student loans are generally not dischargeable in a chapter 7 unless you qualify for financial hardship which is difficult to qualify. Therefore a chapter 7 may possible only a dischage the credit cards providing you otherwie qualify and the credit card debts are unsecured. There are many variables and you should consider a consultation with a bankruptcy attorney to see if a chapter 7 and or a chapter 13 is proper for you.
