Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania
Is filing for bankruptcy the thing I should do?
Hello, I live in central Pennsylvania and was involved in a pretty bad car accidnt. My car insuance covered the first ten thousand dollars, but I now owe approximately another thirteen thousand and have no health insurance. I only make nine dollars an hour and have to pay rent, utilities, etc. I cannot afford to pay my debts and am wondering if I should file for bankruptcy, and if I do, which chapter should I file for and what would happen? Any help given is appreciated. Thanks.

I would suggest you file for bankruptcy relief under chapter 7. You would receive a complete discharge (bankruptcy term for eliminate) of all of your debts including the thirteen thousand. Then you can put this behind you and start over fresh. Please feel free to call me to discuss your case in more detail. I handle cases in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and other locations in PA. ph.
