Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

Past Due Rent

I filed for bankruptcy ''before'' the new law went into effect. I am 2mos behind in my rent, so I notified my landlord of my filing. He responded by saying that I need to pay my past due rent ''in full'' before my hearing. Is this true? Also, can my past due rent be discharged, even if its not listed on the bankruptcy? Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Past Due Rent

If you don't have a lawyer for your bankruptcy you should get one now. A rental lease is an executory contract. As such you have the choice to continue the contract and pay rent or cancel the contract lose the apartment and not pay rent.
