Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

ex possiabily filing bankruptcy

I have heard through the grape-vine that my ex has filed bankruptcy, I think a chapter 13. The house that he is living in still has my name on the mortgage.(he will not sell the house) There is also a home equity loan that is in both our names.I continue to pay the equity loan because they threatened me stating that i am equally responsiable and they will have my paycheck garnished.

I had moved out nearly 2 yrs ago. He has not paid the mortgage for most of the 2 yrs., forclosure was in process.

He also owes me nearly $7,000.00 in child support.(There is a benchwarrent issued on him for that) How can I find out if he has indeed filed bankruptcy and how will this affect me if he has? Your answer is greatly appreciated.

Re: ex possiabily filing bankruptcy

Bankruptcy filings are public records. You need to know where he is living as that determines which bankruptcy court has jurisdiction.
