Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

Pro Se

I filed chapter 7 pro se. I am awaiting discharge. when I view court dockets it says that the trustee filed and was a ''motion to employ'', what does that mean? will that delay my discharge which is due according to court records. I am trying to purchase a car and they need my discharge letter

Re: Pro Se

It will almost certainly delay the discharge. The motion to employ is probably to employ either a real estate appraiser or an attorney. If you do not own real estate or have a lawsuit pending outside of the bankruptcy case, then you certainly want to speak with an attorney who handles bankruptcy matters because it could also be that the trustee has found property in your name that he or she believes is part of the bankruptcy estate.
