Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania
Student Loans
My most insurmountable debt is my consolidated student loan, the principle tripled after the consolidation and 3 different years of forbearance. I was told that student loans may be a special case for banckrupcy and thought you may know. Thank you.

Re: Student Loans
Unfortunately, student loans have been made non-dischargeable in
bankruptcy cases recently. You still have options though:
1. You could file a bankruptcy and discharge your other debt thereby permitting yourself to concentrate on the student loan or
2. Prove to the court that you deserve a "hardship discharge." The latter method is tough to prove however.
