Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

I have been told (by an attorney) that one can choose a date a couple of months in the past and back-date a Chapter 7. This doesn’t sound right? Do you agree or disagree with this?

This makes no sense at all. The filing date of a petition in bankruptcy, regardless of the chapter, is a highly significant date which determines the rights of the debtor, the trustee, and creditors. There is no such think as back dating.

I trust this answers your question but do not hesitate to call or email on a free initial basis.
