Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

Bill Of Lading

What information needs to be on a bill of lading to make it a legal document? I manage the transportation for a 3PL in PA and have a shipper that, for some reason, is refusing to give us the name and physical address of the consignee that he is shipping the product to. I explained to him that the information needs to be on the BOL to make it a legal document. He is stating that we don't need that information. We don't have any idea what to put on the BOL in the area designated for the consignee.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "legal document," but if you are referring to having a contract, you should have a separate document between your company and the shipper that spells out the obligations of each party. Feel free to contact my office so I can better understand the situation.
