Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

Car Bought and Title not Received

I bought a car from a man and he told me he'd give me the title to the car when he got it in the mail because he mailed out for a replacement. He wrote out a receipt saying his name and what kind of car it was with the vin number on it. I later called him looking for the title and he said he didn't have it and that he sold it as a parts car when he told me numerous times that he would have the title. I am inquiring to figure out if I could have a case against him to get my money back on the car, including the money I put into it because I can't drive it without the title.

Re: Car Bought and Title not Received

You asked about getting a title for a car.

A vehicle generally can't be sold even "just as a parts car" without a title. Vehicles must be titled and he must assist you in getting the title.

You can either do the homework yourself and get the title or make him do so by seeking a court order.

Regards,

Roger
