First, filing a trademark is controlled by federal law and you will have to deal with the UNITED STATES PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE (USPTO) in Washington, DC. I am pretty sure that Trademark applications are available online and you should Google that offices website to learn more. There are many technical aspects to filing the application, and if you can afford it you should consult with a lawyer who does this kind of work. You can find this type of attorney by googling "lehigh county trademark attorney". You can try to do this yourself, but the filing fee alone is 275 to 375 depending on the filing method, which is not refundable. So you want to make sure you do it right the first time. It can be a very complicated thing, and I personally would try to find a lawyer who would this for a reasonable price which could start at 500.

As a Franchise Attorney I don't think the other attorney answered your question. To file a trademark in PA, you just need to file an Application to Register Trademark with the PA Dept. of State, Corporation Bureau. The filing fee is $50 and the registration is good for 5 years. Turnaround time varies, so it's best to contact the Dept. of State to see what their current application processing time is running. Of course, a federal registration through the USPTO is much stronger, as it gives presumptive rights in every state. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
