Co-Worker Accusses me of Stealing
A co-worker who took over the responsibilities of ordering our Fortune 100 Company's promotional products from me incinuated to another co-worker that I'm stealing items from our in-house inventory. When I confronted this women about this accusation, she admitted to me that she does believe that I'm stealing these items from the and that she is watching me very closely. I fear that she is spreading this rumor around the office as she is known to bad mouth anyone she doesn't like. Do I have any legal recourse?

Re: Co-Worker Accusses me of Stealing
If the person is accusing you of theft from the company and saying it to others or putting it into writing to others you have a claim for slander (spoken false accusations) or libel(written false accusations) They must be stated to others. Truth is a defense so provided that the accusations are falicious you would appear to have a claim. There is a one year statute of limitation for slander or libel from the date of the false statement. You should contact an attorney to discuss what options or recourse you may have.
