Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

heating oil delivered to wrong house

I had heating oil delivered to my house instead of my neighbors house. It was from a company I do not do business with. They want me to either pay for the oil or pump it out. Are they allowed to do that??

Re: heating oil delivered to wrong house

You asked about oil delivered to the wrong house.

Yes, you generally have to allow them to pump out their oil or pay for it.

Best bet is to negotiate a discount and keep the oil, that you need anyway. Your own oil dealer may be able to help. If it was a legitimate error then you can act in one manner, but if it's a scam trying to get you to pay for their marked up oil then go ahead and be a pain.

Roger
