Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania
Identification requirements when using bank credit card
I would like to know the legal requirements, when using a bank credit card. I recently made a minor purchase ($52.00)with my Visa card, and was asked for a photo ID. Somewhere I heard that this was illegal, and stated so to the vendor. Was I correct?
Thank you.

Re: Identification requirements when using bank credit card
There is no law prohibiting the requirement of a vendor to exhibit a photo ID. This prevents the fraudulent use of a credit card. I would welcome if vendors would do this on a more frequent basis. It may be annoying but actually it will deter credit card theft. If I can be of any assistence please call. Gerald Hershenson Esq. 215-579-9390
