Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

Independent Contractor/Non Compete

I had become a travel consultant for an agency in Allentown Pennsylvania in 2004, working from home and generating leads on my own and receiving a 1099. In 2005 I was required to sign an Independent Contractor Agreement. However, within the Independent Contractor agreement it states that I can not work for another agency or operate an agency of my own. I have recently been ''fired'' according to the owner. However, I willingly left to employ with another agency. It also states that I may not portray to anyone a negative view of VIP Vacations. However, the agency owner has contacted ''persons'' in the travel industry and notifying my clients that I have been fired. What recourse do I have at this point.

Re: Independent Contractor/Non Compete

You have a lot of issues and more facts are necessary to properly evaluate your case. The Agreement you signed must be reviewd and analyzed in view of its content, and other information. The action of notifying your clients may provide you some recourse however this cannot be evaluated without a review of the entire situation. if you would like a consultation please contact my office.
