If you are in the City of Pittsburgh, you will need to contact them to obtain information on a business license. Also, you will need to talk with the City about operating a business out of your home, if that is what you plan to do. Many areas prohibit this.

You may also want to consider forming an LLC to protect your personal assets from debts and liability your business may incur. As a reseller of goods, you may be liable if you sell a defective product, even if you did not manufacture it or design it. You can shield yourself from this liability with an LLC.
