have not been paid by my employer

It is two days past my normal pay day and I have not been paid by my employer. I received a memo from senior management that states the company is in the process of changing banks and is having problems with that. The memo states they will distribute the paychecks as soon as possible. I'm not living paycheck-to-paycheck, but I certainly can't wait until God knows when to get paid. Do I have any legal recourse here? I work in a union shop, but I am salaried management, and not a member of the union.

You asked about a delayed payday.

Employers have a period of time after the end of any "time keeping period" within which to pay an employee. Generally, this varies from two weeks for most non-exempt employees to one month for exempt (salaried) employees.

There are a number of protections for employees pay. This includes first priority if an employer files bankruptcy protection.

Employers can have administrative problems just like any other entity. If the employer doesn't make good forthwith then you may be on notice that layoffs are coming.
